Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

In short: CitySnap has no accounts, and your game stays on your iPhone. Outside Europe, the UK and Switzerland, free players see ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device information to show and measure them, and you decide whether ads can be personalized. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland, CitySnap shows no ads at all. Purchases go through Apple, and we never see your payment details.

Who we are

CitySnap is made by HitScore Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the CitySnap app for iPhone, its widgets and this website, getcitysnap.com.

What stays on your iPhone

Your progress: levels, stars, coins, postcards, passport stamps, awards, daily puzzle results and streaks.
Your settings: the traveler name you type, sounds, haptics, appearance and reminder time.
Widget data: the home screen widget reads a small summary (your streak and today's puzzle) that the app saves in storage shared only with its own widget on the same device.

We don't run a server for CitySnap, so this information never reaches us. We can't see it, and we can't restore it. Deleting the app deletes it.

Ads from Google AdMob

If you don't have Premium, CitySnap shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK): a video you can choose to watch for free coins, and occasional full-screen ads between levels. To show and measure ads, limit how often you see them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:

your IP address, which gives an approximate location;
device identifiers, including your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), but only if you allow tracking;
information about your device and the app, such as model, iOS version and language;
how you interact with ads, such as views and taps.

Tracking permission. After you've played a couple of levels, iOS asks whether CitySnap may track your activity. If you allow it, Google can use your advertising identifier to personalize ads. If you ask CitySnap not to track, your advertising identifier isn't shared and ads aren't personalized with it. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Europe, the UK and Switzerland. CitySnap doesn't show ads to players in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland. To work out whether you're there, the app asks Google's consent service once, which uses your IP address. No ads load and no ad data is collected, and CitySnap doesn't ask to track you.

Premium. With Premium, no ads load and CitySnap doesn't ask to track.

Purchases

Coin packs and CitySnap Premium are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment, and your name and card details stay with Apple. The app receives a confirmation from Apple (which product, and when) so it can add your coins or turn on Premium. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

Daily and special-event reminders are optional. They're scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications, so no reminder data leaves your device.

Crash reports

If you've chosen to share app analytics with developers in iOS settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. CitySnap has no other analytics.

Sharing

Story cards and postcards leave your iPhone only when you share them, and only to the place you send them.

Children

CitySnap is a general-audience game. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Delete the app to remove all of your CitySnap progress from your iPhone.
Turn tracking on or off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Buying Premium stops ads altogether.

When you allow tracking, your advertising identifier is shared with Google to personalize ads. Some privacy laws, such as California's, call this “sharing” or “selling” personal information. You can stop it at any time by turning tracking off. Because we don't keep your data ourselves, requests to access or delete ad data are handled by Google through the links above. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If CitySnap ever starts collecting new kinds of data, we'll say so here before that version is released.
